Summary

Exchange of regional experiences on the implementation of the integrated framework-An exchange mission of the Ministry of Trade of Guinea, the Implementation Unit of the Integrated Framework visited in December 2014 in Bamako in Mali for inquire about the Malian experience in the implementation of the Integrated Framework.

Challenge

The Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) brings together partners and resources to help least developed countries (LDCs) use trade to reduce poverty and ensure inclusive growth and sustainable development. The EIF program provides support to increase the role of trade in economic and social development through better integration of the country into the regional market, the multilateral trading system and the fight against poverty.

Solution

Implementation of the Integrated Framework Program began in Mali in 2005 with support from UNDP. Based on the achievements of the first phase, a second phase, the Commercial Capability Development Program (Enhanced Integrated Framework) was developed for the period 2008-2012 and then extended until 2017.

It aims to support capacity building related to Mali's integration into the Multilateral Trading System. mainly in the mango production sector. Three major outcomes are expected: (i) trade-related capacity building, (ii) strengthening the Integrated Framework Implementation Unit, and (iii) facilitating export promotion.

An exchange mission of the Ministry of Trade of Guinea, the Implementation Unit of the Integrated Framework visited in December 2014 in Bamako in Mali to inquire about the Malian experience in the implementation of the Integrated Framework. . The mission met with government, private sector and partner organizations to inquire about the institutional, organizational and results slide.
